JUNIOR STRUCTURAL TECHNOLOGIST
Regina, SK

Position Description
JCK is currently seeking a full-time Junior-Level Structural Technologist who is proficient in using Revit and AutoCAD software, to work in our Regina Office. The ideal candidate will have experience working in the construction industry and/or at a consulting firm. Depending on the level of experience the successful candidate brings to the position, typical duties will include the following responsibilities to varying degrees, with collaboration and review from senior personnel.
Responsibilities
-
Production of structural models, drawings, and sketches using Revit and AutoCAD.

Project coordination with internal team members and external consultants and clients.

Collaborating on BIM360.
-
Review of shop drawings.
-
Contract administration and field services during construction.
Desired Skills/Requirements
-
Completion of a secondary school diploma in Architectural Technologies or Engineering Design and Drafting Technologies.

Alternatively, 3-5 years of work experience producing drawings at a consulting firm.

Experience in drafting and design of building related projects.

Ability to work under pressure, work on multiple concurrent projects, and meet deadlines.

Organizational and prioritizing skills.

Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Excellent communication skills that enable them to communicate effectively with clients and co-workers.

A positive attitude with a constant desire to learn.

Depending on the level of experience the successful candidate brings to the position, typical duties will include the following responsibilities to varying degrees, with collaboration and review from senior personnel.
Responsibilities

Structural engineering analysis and design.

Structural condition assessments and general site visits.

Preparation of structural engineering reports, specifications, and tender documents.

Contract administration and field services during construction.

Project management.

Proposal preparation.

Business development and client liaison.

Skills/Requirements
-
Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering with credits in structural engineering courses (e.g. concrete, steel, masonry, timber, or structural analysis).

A strong understanding of structural engineering design principles that have been demonstrated through their work experience.

Experience in applying the National Building Code of Canada to the design of building structures.

Experience with engineering design of concrete, steel, masonry and timber structures.

Excellent communication skills that enable them to communicate effectively with clients and co-workers.

A positive attitude with a constant desire to learn.

Demonstrated leadership abilities that will enable them to assist JCK Engineering in developing business in the Province of British Columbia, Saskatchewan or Manitoba, depending on location.
